International Index to Music Periodicals - (Proquest): International Index to Music Periodicals Full Text This database provides indexing and abstracts for several hundred international music periodicals from over 20 countries, plus full text for more than 140 of the indexed journals. The database currently includes over 770,000 records, the majority from the most recent ten years of publication. Some complete journal runs are included, with indexing back to 1874. Covers the full spectrum of subjects and all aspects of music, including music education, performance, ethnomusicology, musical theatre, theory, popular music forms and composition.

Naxos Music Library: Includes the complete Naxos and Marco Polo catalogues of over 253,000 tracks, including Classical music, Jazz, World, Folk and Chinese music.

JSTOR: JSTOR is a not-for-profit organization with a dual mission to create and maintain a trusted archive of important scholarly journals, and to provide access to these journals as widely as possible. JSTOR offers researchers the ability to retrieve high-resolution, scanned images of journal issues and pages as they were originally designed, printed, and illustrated. JSTOR is an interdisciplinary archive of hundreds of journals in the arts, humanities, business and social sciences.

Project Muse: 100% full text coverage of scholarly journals in the fields of literature, politics policy studies economics, education, film, religion and women's studies.

Grove Music Online: " Grove Music Online is a dynamic online resource and the unsurpassed authority on all aspects of music. Now available through the Oxford Music Online gateway, Grove Music Online includes the full text of The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, second edition; The New Grove Dictionary of Opera; and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz, second edition. A subscription to Grove Music Online now also includes access to the full text of the Oxford Companion to Music and the Oxford Dictionary of Music, and linking from Grove articles to RILM, DRAM and Classical Music Library for subscribers to these sites."

  • The Classical Music Archives, formerly known as Classical MIDI Archives, offers over 20,000 classical music files on the Internet in MIDI, MP3, and Windows Media Audio (WMA) formats. Biographies of major composers are also included.
  • ClassicalNet. Provides composer biographies and lists of works, repetoire lists, reviews of CDs, books, and scores, a CD buying guide, and links to other music sites.
  • National Jukebox. Historical Recordings from the Library of Congress
  • Opera Glass, the best opera site, includes libretti and source texts, performances, synopses, discographies, biographies of composers, librettists, companies, and performers, pictures, and other information.
  • Popular American Music - Part of UCLA's Digital Library Program, this site provides sheet music and sound recordings of late 19th- and early 20th-Century popular music.

Print resources for music are found in the Library of Congress classification M, ML, and MT on the 1st floor. Scores are usually in the M classification, music history and literature in ML, and music theory and instruction in MT. Dance resources (some of which include musical scores) will be found in GV1580 through the GV1790s on the 4th floor. Audiovisual materials will be found under the same classifications (M-MT for music, GV for dance) in the Media Collection on the 1st floor...
